The Massachusetts State Police are now responsible for protecting the residents of a small town in Massachusetts after its entire four-member police department resigned on Monday, citing unsafe work conditions.
In a resignation letter submitted to city officials on Monday, the entirety of the Blandford Police Department — which consisted of Interim Police Chief Roberta Sarnacki and three officers — said they simply could not continue to serve because of inadequate and decrepit equipment that put their lives in danger.
“The officers said the town’s police cruisers are in such bad shape they often have to answer calls in their personal vehicles,” Boston CBS reports. “They said their police radios don’t work in some parts of the town and bulletproof vests are beyond their expiration dates and fit poorly to begin with.”
Here’s what the now-defunct department posted on Facebook:

Now, if this town is like the small town I live in, the idiots of the town will blame the resignations on the police officers themselves.
Personally, I can’t say I blame them. Police work is hazardous enough without that. It was thoughtful and caring of them to let their citizens know the reasons for their resignation.
Unless they’re from Seattle
You better know the job is tough when you take it. Looks like these clowns didn’t know that. No biggie with these people bailing out on the citizens, they should have replacements for them before the ink drys on their resignations anyway.
Here is a fact,,,,With only 4 people on the police force I don’t see how they could have more then one copper on duty at a time and THAT is dangerous. One more thing. Cars, vests, 20 shot pistols and other toys do not make a policeman. And you can’t go to collage and learn to be one. Training is great but Policemen are born and not made. Either you are one or you are not. Don’t tell me these green hornets didn’t know the shape of that police department was in when they tool their oaths. – The town and every place else is better off without them.
BOY YOU KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE MEN WORKING THERE YOUR NAME MUST BE OBAMINATION !!! VIETNAM VET
Too bad you cannot spell.
Perhaps the town will now give the next officers adequate equipment. They will probably blame it on Trump or Bush.
This tiny town might apply for the services of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department. It seems well equipped, adequately staffed and might absorb Blandford for less money than maintaining its own force. It’s not an uncommon problem and sheriffs often are responsible for small under-funded towns.
Good, Now it’s my chance to get a good paying job. I will do the job of Police chief.
Let me guess democrat city counsel.
