Rene Boucher is going to the big house for attacking Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.). The Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports that the left wing assailant has pleaded guilty to the charge of assaulting a member of Congress, and federal prosecutors will recommend a sentence of 21 months in prison. Boucher made headlines last year when he tackled Paul at his home while the Senator was cutting his grass. His attorneys then claimed that the dispute stemmed from grass clippings in is yard.
The bloggersphere didn’t buy that answer, because after all, who attacks a Senator over grass clippings? PJMedia’s Tyler O’Neal did some Facebook snooping and established that there was more to Boucher than meets the eye. “This little investigation confirmed that the Rene Boucher who attacked Rand Paul is also the Rene Boucher who reposts anti-Trump memes and stories, and shares posts from Bernie Sanders. Boucher shared a meme from ‘Proud Liberals’ calling Trump a liar. In May, he shared a post from the page “Impeach Trump, Impeach Pence, Keep Impeaching.” He shared a photo of the Time magazine cover with the White House turned into the Kremlin. He quoted an ex-CIA official who called Trump the ‘Sissy in chief.’ ”
Rene Boucher inflicted the second instance of political violence on Rand Paul in 2017. In the summer, James Hodgkinson attempted to murder Senator Paul and gravely wounded Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) when he opened fire on Congressmen on an Alexandra ball field; Hodgkinson was also a supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). The rising tide of political violence touched Senator Paul, but his assailant is going to pay for it when many on the left do not.

Losing seems to have put the leftists off the rails. I wonder when ‘ol shutout will open fire on the right side of the house.
Hope Rand is really OK, during my 30 years working the graveyard shift in 7-Eleven Stores I was beaten many times so I know up close and personal what he went through. Keep up the great work Rand.
The sentence for Rand’s attacker mimics the light sentences that hippies get when they burn cars and destroy buildings during their riots. Kaine’s son got a slap on the wrist after his terroristic attack. If you try to own a semiautomatic rifle and mind your own business in California, you would get a bigger sentence than either of those two actual criminals.
Democrats believe they can do or say whatever they want and get away with it. They’ve been at it for years; look at their choice of leaders. Clintons have been above the law for years somehow…they need to be prosecuted for numerous things including stealing items from the whitehouse when they left. Idiots!
10 years would be more appropriate, if a dog attacked like that it would be euthanized.
I hope Boucher receives “special treatment” during his 21 months in prison.
I’m glad they prosecuted this noodlehead but he should have gotten 5 years or more. You should never be allowed to attack a politician for having a difference of opinion. Physical violence is a serious crime and the perps should pay a dear price. Maybe just cut off his balls using pinking shears and then burning them.
